Platformsutra.org publishes the dharma talk summaries Grand Master Sheng-yen Lu delivers on the Six Patriarch’s Platform Sutra. Grand Master Lu has been regularly giving these sermons during Saturday evening group practices in Redmond, WA. Weekly webcast information can be found on True Buddha School (TBS) Seattle Temple’s web site.
Grand Master Lu refers to the “Six Patriarch’s Platform Sutra” (六祖壇經)as the “Six Patriarch’s Zen Sutra” (六祖禪經). In 2008, at the request of students, Grand Master Lu began discoursing on the supreme wisdom Hui Neng, the Six Patriarch of Zen Buddhism imparted twelve hundred years ago. Hui Neng is the founder of the Sudden Enlightenment (頓教), also known as the Southern school of Zen. As an enlightened Guru, Grand Master Lu is revered as one of a few qualified teachers capable of interpreting in detail these thesisses so laymen could grasp.
While Grand Master Lu speaks in Mandarin Chinese, the summaries are translated by the True Buddha Translation Teams, a global team of volunteering TBS students dedicated to expanding the reach of Buddha’s teachings through multilingual translations of Grand Master Lu’s 200+ books and an abundance of non-written materials.
